Preview of New Features in Password Touch 1.1

Password Touch 1.1 would be submitted to App Store by the end of November. Here’re some of the new features:

Searching

Searching could be launched from the password list, either in tree view or flat view. By default it would search all fields. But you could limit the search to Title, User or URL.

The password generation rules could be saved as password policy so that the same rules could used to generate new password later on.

Password History

Password changes would be saved in history (if enabled.) You can see the listing of pervious passwords and change the settings in Password History screen.

There are a few more new features and couple of bug fixes in this upcoming release. If you have any suggestion, feel free to email us at info@emma-corp.com or leave a message in the forum.

Password Touch is launched!

Password Touch is launched in App Store for most countries today. (Except in our home country Canada, which we are waiting for Apple to confirm the sales tax arrangement.)

Password Touch is a new password manager for iPhone/iPod touch. While it has all the basic features to manage your passwords, the most distinguish feature is the ability to access existing Password Safe files. Since the creation of this website, many have email to tell us Password Touch would solve their problem of accessing passwords on the go. We would like to thank all the encouraging emails here!

As you may expected for a first version of software, there are rooms for improvement. If you found a bug or have feature suggestion, please email us at support@emma-corp.com. If critical bug is found, we would create a bug fix update (version 1.0.1).

Currently, we are working on version 1.1, which would introduces:

  • Searching
  • Custom password generation

At the same time, we are also working on documentation and making videos to explain the features.

For now, please enjoy the first release of Password Touch. You can get Password Touch in the App Store.

Welcome

Welcome to the blog of Password Touch. Here you can find the updates of this app.

Password Touch is a new password manager for iPhone/iPod touch. For the last two years I have used Password Safe to manage my passwords and use Dropbox to sync between the home and workplace computers. (See the “Password management finally possible” by Joel Spolsky.) However, there are times that I wish I can take the passwords database to go. For example, PIN of debit cards and credit cards, combination of locks, and password of phone cards would be useful if they are available on a mobile device. So the idea of Password Safe compatible iPhone/iPod touch comes to my mind. What’s missing is a way to sync the password databases.

When Dropbox decided to open up an API, I have all the pieces to build the app. After some planning and coding, I have built an app that can do what I need: access Password Safe files and sync with Dropbox. While the app is not ready for distribution yet (more polished UI and bug fixes needed), it has all the basic features working. You can find the screenshots in the Tour page.

I’m currently busy finishing up the app before uploading to the App Store. If you have a particular feature you want, please drop a message here or email info@emma-corp.com.

Otherwise, you can follow us on Twitter, like our Facebook page, and wait for the release!
